LOVE NEVER DIES:

The world’s greatest love story continues…

From the Gothic surrounds of the Paris Opera House to the dazzling heights of New York’s Coney Island – the Phantom returns. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s spectacular new musical reunites the masked Phantom with his only true love and musical protégée, the stunning beauty Christine Daaé. Love Never Dies is a roller-coaster ride of intrigue, obsession and romance – where little is as it first appears.

With Madame Giry’s help the Phantom escaped the Paris mobs to build a glittering new empire in the new world. For ten long years the Phantom has hidden himself amongst the freaks and sideshows nursing his broken heart and yearning for his true love to return. And now…

Blinded by money and the bright lights of Coney – Christine, with Raoul and their son Gustave, is lured to America to perform one final time. But Christine soon discovers the true identity of the mysterious impresario who has tempted her across the Atlantic. As old wounds are reopened and forgotten memories unlocked – The Phantom sets out to prove that, indeed, Love Never Dies.

Hear from you soon,

Shandy

Les Miserables:

Les Misérables translated variously from the French as The Miserable Ones, The Wretched, The Poor Ones, The Wretched Poor, or The Victims), is an 1862 French novel by author Victor Hugo and is widely considered one of the greatest novels of the nineteenth century. It follows the lives and interactions of several French characters over a seventeen-year period in the early nineteenth century, starting in 1815 and culminating in the 1832 June Rebellion.

The novel focuses on the struggles of ex-convict Jean Valjean and his experience of redemption. It examines the nature of law and grace, and expounds upon the history of France, architecture of Paris, politics, moral philosophy, antimonarchism, justice, religion, and the types and nature of romantic and familial love. The story is historical fiction because it contains factual and historic events.

Captivating, fast moving and thought provoking, Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers tells the story of two brothers separated at birth and how the differences in upbringings send them on two completely separate paths. Fate brings the two brothers back to together and despite the overwhelming circumstances, they form a close friendship.
Set in Liverpool, during the infamous coal miner strikes, the beginning sees a desperate mother in financial despair having to make the agonising decision of giving away one of her new born twins. Their paths are destined to cross again and anger, friendship and love for the same woman ultimately lead to the most tragic of consequences.
Blood Brothers is one of London’s longest running musicals that will capture your heart and imagination. Extremely powerful and moving, this show is one of the most moving stories in the West End.

LONDON INTERNATIONAL MIME FESTIVAL
Monday, January 17, 2011
Hope everyone had a great break!

The LONDON INTERNATIONAL MIME FESTIVAL is in town!
And Goldsmiths Arts and Entertainment is organising to watch one of the Mime, LES ANTLICLASTES by HILUM on the 25/1 (tues) 8pm at ICAtheatre. Tickets going at £12 only!! RSVP soon by 20/1 (thurs)~

LES ANTLICLASTES

A micro comic-tragedy based on the cycles of the washing machine and set in the basement of a rundown museum of natural history. Orphaned and cut off from the ordered kingdom of curiosities upstairs, the cast of nursery rhyme characters, cartoon images, and mischievous urchins turn playtime into a theatre of cruelty. Whites mix with colours, delicates get hot washed, and a monstrous big toe devours holes in the socks.

Conceived and directed by Patrick Sims, formerly creative director of Buchinger’s Boot Marionettes whose Armature of the Absolute was a sold out hit at the Festival in 2009. Hilum - a miniature fantasy-land, distorting and disturbing, is his new company’s debut performance.
